Life and Death at the Mexican Border – Part 1
Part 1 of Life and Death at the Mexican Border explores the dangers immigrants face while crossing the border into the United States. There are currently about 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. Hundreds die each year while crossing the desert to enter the country. The border is a 362-mile stretch of land fraught with danger. As Mexicans and other immigrants from Latin America seek a new life in the U.S., border patrol is the least of their worries, overshadowed by risk of animal attacks, dehydration, exhaustion or betrayal by the guides they trusted to lead them across.
This seven-minute documentary highlights the impact this journey has on immigrants, border patrol agents, advocates and ranchers.
